Children's Hospital Colorado
Food Security Specialist
13123 E 16th Ave, Colorado
Reuben Gregory currently oversees Food Security Council projects at Children's Hospital Colorado. These include a new garden/microfarm, a new SNAP-accessible farmcart, and a Food Clinic to be opened in late 2019. He also assists with various pieces of the food system within this healthcare anchor institution ranging from local procurement to food waste reduction.
Reuben also co-chairs the mayor-appointed Denver Sustainable Food Policy Council, where he advocates for equity in food-systems policy locally. Currently the city is looking at GFPP as a viable option for the near future, and the SFPC is diligently working to see adoption come to fruition.
After a number of years of being a regional delegate within the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, Reuben recently attended the National Farmers Union as an RMFU delegate where he advocated successfully for adding local procurement language to NFU policy.
Currently, Reuben is involved with the Denver Anchor Network and advocating for his employer to lean more into the Healthcare Anchor Network as well. Generally speaking, he is an optimist.
