Malini is the Founder and Managing Principal of Torana Group, an investment firm that offers business owners alternative capital for growth and exits. Torana makes direct investments in two areas: food & agriculture and employee ownership conversions. Her current work integrates a variety of experience, from advising the Kresge Foundation with DAISA Enterprises to launching and leading an impact investment team that structured millions in supply chain investments. Years before she owned farm grade rubber boots, Malini jet set in stilettos as a McKinsey consultant and JPMorgan banker. For the past decade, Malini has focused on integrating margin and mission using a full spectrum of investment tools and working with a range of investors from family offices to foundations.

Malini has been nationally recognized for her work, speaking at White House Rural Council Summits, AgOutlook, and myriad farming and food conferences. She has also published in the Federal Reserve-USDA book, Harvesting Opportunity. Malini continues as a partner with DAISA Enterprises, serves on the Board member of The Common Market and on the Advisory Board of the Food Chain Workers Alliance.

Malini has an MBA from University of Chicago's Booth School of Business and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Cooper Union in New York. She has also passed the CFA Level I exam and is now working on Level II. Malini is currently based in Chicago.
