President & CEO of Food Commons Fresno Community Corporation (FCFCC); a California Public Benefit Corporation founded in 2014. FCFCC was launched as a prototype of The Food Commons regional model for systemic change within the nation’s food and farming industries. FCFCC started its first business in 2015, a subscription-CSA branded Ooooby.com (Out of Our Own Backyards). Today Ooooby has over 1,000 active customers and has delivered over 95,000 boxes of fresh, local, organic and affordable food. In addition to Ooooby, FCFCC operates the Road 20 Farm organic farm, a wholesale distribution business and a commissary kitchen where “street food” vendors, caters and other food entrepreneurs prepare meals. In 2019, FCFCC plans to break ground on a 26,000 square foot retail grocery store and distribution center in SW Fresno, one of the most underserved communities in California.
